Yesterday evening was Madison's first dramatic performance! Her Kindergarten class performed the Chicken Soup with Rice poem by Maurice Sendak. Since Maddy's birthday was in June she was part of the "Charming Roses" group (their costumes looked more like they were wearing a lopsided Spongebob Squarepants on their heads).
We had a family soup potluck before hand, and of course it degenerated into a bunch of kids running madly around the school gym and bunch of parents not really caring at all, just glad that the running/shouting/rowdy-ness was not happening at their own homes. *it felt much like a church primary program practice*.
After some slight audio malfunctions their teacher decided to go without a microphone and the kids had to "speak loudly", this is where things became riotously funny with some children down right shouting their lines and the two class clowns suddenly getting stage fright and fighting each other to get off stage first!
At the end of the show all the kids lined up for parent photos and Madison kept bowing and thanking everyone so much that her flower face mask fell off!!!
